Welcome to Foundations of Literacy, an interactive class designed to build essential reading skills for young readers. This course focuses on phonics. Through engaging activities, hands-on practice, and personalized instruction, students will develop a strong foundation for lifelong reading success.
Course Objectives:
Phonics: Students will learn to recognize and produce letter sounds, understand letter-sound relationships, and decode simple words. Activities will include phonemic awareness exercises, blending and segmenting sounds, and practicing sight words.
